15# Library 2.0 - It's many things to many people
Library 2.0 - It's many things to many people. The focus of the perspectives is all an how the web and technology will change libraries and how people use them. I do not believe that it is going to be that big a change straight away, there are small changes occurring even now but in the big picture people will still want access the written word in books not just on the computer/mobile phone/ipod etc. The library is a part of the community especially for the older and youngest members. We do have to keep up with technology as well as staying current with our skills. It's not so great to have up to date technology that staff do not have the skills or knowledge to use, that is also another cost of technology; training.

The library of the future might be a computer but it is not here yet, so we need to get people into the libraries now so they will still be around in the future!

    Hi Megnjane,

I really like your colour scheme for your blog but always need to go off and have a "little smackerel of something" when I read it.... ah the power of suggestion. I agree with you that libraries are in a period of transition and that the challenge is to make sure that we don't overlook some of our less "tech-savvy" customers as we forge ahead making Library2.0. One of the great things of working in a Public Library is that you get too help all kinds of people from all walks of life but equally the problem is that we have to try and be all things to all people.
    Keep on blogging,
    cheers, Paul.
